McCain

Last night we watched the McCain v Obama interview at Saddleback. I was a little worried before watching it that I would be even more skeptical about McCain but it turned out to be quite the opposite. Obama looked like a lost puppy about to be run over by a freight train every time he was asked a question. To be honest I'm not sure he completely answered any question that was posed to him relying on his rhetoric to get him through the interview. I mean, when asked who is one of the three wisest people he knows that he would rely heavily on in his administration, Obama actually said his grandmother...seriously. McCain on the other hand had answers so fast that Rick Warren didn't have time to complete the question on many occasions. I particularly liked McCain's stand on taxes, drilling for oil and greater school choice. McCain also has a little something called a sense of humor (see the bear DNA joke...really funny!) I did find a sound bite that should convince you to vote for McCain if all those other reasons fail. See below.

I waited 5 minutes to hear "he's been a man, since he was a boy" - lame!
How anyone can be for McCain is beyond me! That'd be like choosing Hitler as the lesser evil to Stalin. McCain is a empire-building socialist who is for rewarding criminals with amnesty! So much for the last free-market economy on the planet!

Well my friend, you go ahead and vote for Obama and leave your wallet at the voting booth because despite the third party "vote your conscience" montra a vote against McCain is a vote for Obama. Don't live in denial.

Way to go after the "nomosian!" Who in their right mind would vote for Osama Obama?! He is an empty suited idiot! He sounds like Foghorn Leghorn in his answers...."Well, I say, well I say ah boy, ah, em, I , uh...." Yeah, run our country-for sure.

Matt, we seriously need to do some damage control and talk about your political views and turn you into a Ron Paul fan. Being against Mc Cain does not necessarily equal supporting Obama, the Jankowskis are idealists and support Ron Paul(well I could if I was able to vote :)

I actually left with a better impression of both men. Obama being the super-careful politician and McCain being the straight-forward soldier. Don't be a hater, but I think that Obama will be a good leader in about a decade as long as he genuinely pursues truth.

I thought the "Irish Calvinist" blog had a good, in a nutshell, review on the Saddleback forum in case anyone is interested.....MOM

pointing out McCain's neocon, anti-republican, anti-free market tendencies is hardly a vote for Obama! you guys are aware that there are and were more than two candidates, right? (Obama and McCain aren't even that different if one were to explore their fiscal and foreign policy), we're precisely at the point of suggesting a vote for Hitler over Stalin is an appropriate act toward a lesser evil *because* American sheep have allowed their government to plunder not only their bank accounts but their minds for far too long. If history is any measure, America is already lost.

caleb - socialism inevitably entails dictatorship. Matt and Dana could probably illustrate that by explaining the recent anti-democratic Lisbon Treaty. Obama's intentions may be in the right place - but he is an empire builder like McCain who is a leading advocate for the welfare State. When you subsidize something, you get a lot more of it - who do you think is going to pay for all of this? We borrow nearly 4 billon a day just to cover our 10 trillion dollar debt's interest.

Forced wealth redistribution is a violation of God's 8th commandment - a vote for Obama or McCain obviously dismisses that fact as irrelevant and ensures we continue in Mother Europe's footsteps.
